"The Miracle is not that we do this work, it is that we are happy to do it." -Mother Theresa
What We Do To support our mission, we operate an Action Center in downtown Albuquerque and plan to open additional facilities throughout the state within the next two years. A number of activities that involve training volunteers for a variety of programs take place in our Action Center.
1.Providing a Volunteer Hotline manned by volunteers which helps people link their passions to volunteer opportunities. This is supported by a proprietary database that is used to track over 2,500 organizations in the Albuquerque area that utilize volunteers to support their missions; 2.Hosting participants from job development programs such as Career Link, Goodwill and others. They learn job skills and we help them in their search for employment. Community Link also works with other organizations, such as helping develop corporate volunteer projects. 3. Annually for the past five years, coordinating fundraising opportunities for a number of non-profits at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. In 2017, 21 organizations shared in $50,733.15generated in 11days; 4.Giving presentations on the relationship between volunteerism, employment, positive attitude, caring communities and the economy; and 5. Coordinating service projects for local and out-of-town teams.
