The Action Center is the hub for linking ready volunteers with non-profits in their areas of interest. A call to the Volunteer Hotline will result in a volunteer in the Action Center helping the caller identify their interests and suggesting organizations that fit those interests. Community Link has a database of over 2500 non-profits that utilize volunteers to help in their missions. They can quickly link the caller to one or more organizations in which they can serve.
One important core program provided by Community Link is Job Skills Training for a variety of people who are enrolled in various job training programs such as Career Link, development programs such as Career Link, Goodwill and others. At the Action Center, online programs teach people various skillS to apply as they find jobs or choose to engage in additional types of training to build a career. Computer and phone skills, professional interactions with others, organizational skills and more are gained through these programs, resulting in increased confidence and the ability to better provide for themselves and their families.
